From Roots to Story Workshop

February 15 @ 10:30 am

Jewish Genealogical Society of Greater Miami presents

FEBRUARY 15, 10:30 AM
THE ADULT READING ROOM – THE HUB LIBRARY
Location: Temple Beth Am, Adults Reading Room (The Hub Library)
Address: 5950 SW 88th St, Pinecrest, FL 33156

On Tu BiShvat, the Jewish New Year of the Trees, we traditionally celebrate planting, growth, and continuity. Trees remind us that what we see above ground is nourished by deep, often unseen roots.

In that same spirit, our special gathering celebrates personal roots—spirit, family trees from which our own lives have grown.

During this program, participants from our From Roots to Story workshop will share the narratives they create about an ancestor of their choice. Each story represents a living branch of a family tree, shaped by time, place, culture, and historical events.

These short presentations reveal how individual lives were influenced by the larger world around them—and how memory, identity, and heritage continue to grow across generations.

Just as Tu BiShvat honors the planting of trees, this event honors the planting of stories—stories that preserve the past, strengthen the present, and inspire future generations.

We invite you to join us for this meaningful morning of reflection, storytelling, and shared heritage, where personal history and Jewish tradition come together.

Sponsored by: Sunday Salon & the Jewish Genealogical Society of Greater Miami (JGSGM)
