In an unparalleled work of genealogy\, she was able to fully document her unbroken maternal lineage 22 generations going back as far as 1405 to Pre-Inquisition Spain and Portugal. \n\n\n\nHistorical Note – Why March 15 Matters \n\n\n\nMarch 15 carries significance in Crypto-Jewish history. On this date in 1481\, the Spanish Inquisition carried out the first public sentencing and burning of individuals in Seville accused of being secret Jews \n\n\n\n(Conversos/Crypto-Jews). This tragedy marked an early and defining moment in centuries of persecution that followed\, including the 1492 Alhambra Decree.
